Winner of the Urban Commons Foodscape Competition

Winner of the Urban Commons Foodscape Competition

Urban Commons and Green Magazine are pleased to announce the winner of the Win a Foodscape Competition. With a number of high quality entries, it made making a decision very difficult for us.

Without further ado, the first prize goes to:

Bijl Architecture designed the recently completed commercial kitchen for One4Food. One4Food is a soup kitchen outreach to the local community operated by St Saviour’s Church, Redfern.

They have won a Foodscape valued at $4,950. We caught up with them at designEX to talk about their winning entry and show them their prize.

By incorporating Foodscape, their concept of including courtyard seating and a vegetable garden to grow produce for the meals can become reality.

We also have two runners up who also provided compelling cases for using Foodscape. They are:

  • Snowdon Architects, whose idea was to incorporate Foodscape as a productive garden for a communal rooftop terrace in Hawthorn
  • In Your Garden Designs, with their idea to bring Foodscape to a community garden space as an interactive garden for young and old.

Both runners up have won a one-year subscription to Green Magazine.

Thank you to everyone who entered.

Thank you also to Green Magazine and Palamont for helping make this competition possible.
